Political successors at odds

He is running on a TDP ticket from the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat. With a firm grip on the Jammalamadugu Assembly seat, Bhupesh feels optimistic about winning the election. Adinarayana Reddy, a BJP politician and former minister, is the brother of Narayana Reddy. Ironically, in 2019 Narayana Reddy had an unsuccessful campaign against TDP candidate YS Avinash Reddy from the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat.

Vasu Adireddy Srinivas

son of Adireddy Appa Rao, a former TDP MLC

On a TDP ticket, he is running for the Rajahmundry Urban Assembly seat in place of his wife, Adireddy Bhavani, the current MLA. Margani Bharat of the YSRC, the current MP for Rajahmundry, is the opponent Vasu is facing. In the 2019 Assembly elections, Bhavani defeated YSRC candidate Routhu Surya Prakasa Rao with a margin of almost 30,000 votes. Vasu has a long history in politics. He is the brother-in-law of Srikakulam MP K Ram Mohan Naidu and the son-in-law of former Union minister Kinjarapu Yerran Naidu.

Kittu, also known as Perni Venkata Sai Krishna Murthy

son of Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani), the current YSRC MLA

The 27-year-old, who is running from the Machilipatnam Assembly sector, comes from a politically active family. In N Janardhana Reddy’s ministry, his grandpa Perni Krishnamurthy held the position of minister. He is the contestant who is the youngest. Kittu received his engineering degree from Bhimavaram’s SRKR Engineering College. For the last four years, he and his father Nani have been involved in the YSRC activities. Kollu Ravindra of the TDP, Kittu’s opponent, was defeated by his father Perni.

Reddy Bhumana Abhinay

son of Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, the current YSRC MLA

He is running from the Tirupati Assembly seat since his father, Karunakar Reddy, was named TTD Chairman. Abhinay graduated from London with a master’s degree in business information systems. He started his political career at the age of 30, and he has been involved ever since 2021. He was chosen to serve as an MCT corporator and subsequently as deputy mayor. He will compete against Arani Srinivasulu, a candidate for the TDP-BJP-JSP coalition, who defected from the YSRC to the JSP after being refused a ticket for Chittoor.

Mohith Chevireddy

son of Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, the current YSRC MLA

In the Chandragiri Assembly seat, the YSRC has nominated Mohith, whereas Bhaskar Reddy is running as an Ongole Lok Sabha candidate. At the age of 22, 26-year-old Mohith, a graduate of Warwick University in London, started his political career and was elected as an MPTC member. Afterwards, he was overwhelmingly elected as Tirupati Rural’s MPP. He serves on the TTD Trust Board as well. The TDP’s Pulivarthi Venkata Mani Prasad, whom his father Bhaskar Reddy defeated in the 2019 elections, will be his opponent.

Pilli Prakash Surya

son of Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose, YSRC Rajya Sabha MP

The 43-year-old former software engineer is running for office from the East Godavari district’s Ramachandrapuram Assembly seat. After moving the incumbent Chelluboyina Srinivasa Venu Gopalakrishna to Rajhamundry rural, the YSRC nominated Surya Prakash. He is doing all in his power to earn the support of the public and win the election.

Rajesh Thale

son of Thale Bhadraiah, a former MLA

He is running from the Rajam Assembly constituency, taking Kambala Jogulu’s seat as the current YSRC MLA. Rajesh, an orthopedic surgeon by trade, will challenge TDP candidate Kondru Murali Mohan, who was unsuccessful in the 2019 election. Bhadraiah was elected twice from Palakonda as an MLA. Being a committed volunteer in the community, Rajesh feels optimistic about winning the election.

Srinivas Kondapalli

nephew of Kondapalli Appala Naidu, a former TDP MLA

Srinivas, a politician of the third generation from Kondapalli Pydithalli Naidu, is running on a TDP ticket from the Gajapathinagaram Assembly seat. The 46-year-old Srinivas is going to challenge Botcha Appalanarasayya, the current YSRC MLA.

Raja Varla Kumar

Varla Ramaiah, the TDP general secretary’s son

On a TDP ticket, he is running from the Pamarru Assembly seat. At his father’s request, Raja, a software engineer, entered politics after he was named TDP constituency head. In 2014, Ramaiah ran an unsuccessful campaign from Pamarru against YSRC candidate Uppuleti Kalpana. Raja is now running against YSRC’s Kaile Anil Kumar.
