On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated and placed the cornerstones for 114 national highway projects, totaling over Rs 1 lakh crore, all throughout the nation.

Modi launched a number of important National Highway (NH) projects, including the Dwarka Expressway’s Haryana segment.

The Dwarka Expressway is 29 km long in total, of which 18.9 km are in Haryana and the remaining 10.1 km are in Delhi. The highway would relieve congestion and enhance traffic flow on NH-48 between Delhi and Gurugram.

Here, the prime minister also conducted a roadshow.

As part of the Center’s Rs 60,000 crore highway development plan in the NCR to relieve traffic in the nation’s capital, the Dwarka Expressway is being built at an estimated cost of Rs 9,000 crore. It is India’s first elevated, 8-lane access control urban expressway.

The 10.2-km Delhi-Haryana Border to Basai Rail-over-Bridge (ROB) and the 8.7-km Basai ROB to Kherki Daula comprise the two packages of the 10.2-km Dwarka Expressway’s Haryana segment, which was constructed for around Rs 4,100 crore.

Additionally, it will provide direct access to the Gurugram Bypass and Delhi’s IGI Airport.

The 9.6-kilometer, six-lane Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II)-Package 3 in Delhi, which runs from Nangloi-Najafgarh Road to Sector 24 Dwarka, is one of the other significant projects that the prime minister officially opened.

Aside from that, Modi also dedicated three packages of the Lucknow Ring Road, which were developed in Uttar Pradesh at an approximate cost of Rs 4,600 crore; the Anandapuram-Pendurthi-Anakapalli section of NH16, which was developed in Andhra Pradesh at a cost of Rs 2,950 crore; the Kiratpur to Nerchowk section of NH-21, which comprises two packages valued at Rs 3,400 crore in Himachal Pradesh; and the Dobaspet-Heskote section, which comprises two packages and costs Rs 2,750 crore in Karnataka.

Up to 42 more projects, totaling Rs 20,500 crore, were launched nationwide in various states.

Additionally, the prime minister laid the cornerstone for several NH projects across the nation.

These consist of 39 projects totaling Rs 32,700 crore spread across various states, including 14 packages of the Bengaluru-Kadappa-Vijayawada Expressway worth Rs 14,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh, 6 packages of the Belgaum-Hungund-Raichur section of NH-748A worth Rs 8,000 crore in Karnataka, 3 packages of the Shamli-Ambala Highway worth Rs 4,900 crore in Haryana, and 2 packages of the Amritsar-Bathinda corridor worth Rs 3,800 crore in Punjab.
