Pushcart carrying a 550-kg poppieshusk

Today, the Khanna police said that they had apprehended an interstate drug dealer and taken 550 kg of poppy husk off his hands.

28-year-old Uttar Pradesh native Kulwinder Singh has been named as the suspect.

At a news conference in this respect, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Khanna, Amneet Kondal, Superintendent of Police (Investigation), Sourav Jindal, Payal DSP Nikhil Garg, and Doraha SHO Rohit Sharma spoke.

According to Kondal, the Payal police squad was at a naka when they got a tip that a truck driver named Kulwinder Singh was engaged in interstate poppy husk smuggling and had a large amount of drugs stored in his car, which was parked in a hamlet close to Doraha.

According to the SSP, the police unit raided the vehicle and found it. Along with the suspect, who was seated inside the truck, 550 kg of poppy husk were taken out of it. He was the subject of a registered NDPS Act case. In order to shut off the narcotics supply stream, authorities would now seek to place the suspect under detention.
