Rahul Gandhi said one ex-congress leader sobbed and told his mother he was forced to join the BJP

Rahul Gandhi of the Congress spoke in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park to the opposition INDIA bloc rally after his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra came to an end. A prominent official who left the Congress to join the BJP was given particular attention during his address, even though most of his jabs were directed at the BJP-led Center.

In an hour-long address, Rahul Gandhi discussed the two main issues of corruption and the independence of democratic institutions, with the participation of opposition figures including MK Stalin and Uddhav Thackeray.

“A force is at war with us. The issue now is: What kind of power is that? Rahul Gandhi said that the CBI, Income Tax, Enforcement Directorate, and EVMs are where a king’s soul is kept.

While Rahul did not identify the politician, it was assumed that he was alluding to MP and chief minister of Maharashtra Ashok Chavan when he discussed the BJP’s abuse of central agencies like the Enforcement Directorate.

“A major politician from this state quit Congress; I don’t want to disclose names. “Sonia-ji, I’m ashamed to say, I do not have the power to fight these people, this force,” he sobbed as he spoke to my mother. “I want to avoid going to jail,” he continued.

The Congress has once again accused the BJP of being a “washing machine,” citing Chavan’s resignation from the party last month, which came just after that of another important figure, Milind Deora.

ASHOK CHAVAN’S REACTIONS
Rahul Gandhi’s remarks in this respect were deemed “baseless” by BJP Rajya Sabha member Ashok Chavan, who said on Monday that he did not see Sonia Gandhi before departing the historic party.

In response to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks, Chavan claimed in a video message that the politician made the remarks on Sunday during a rally without mentioning anybody by name. However, if he is making that claim about me, it is unfounded and nonsensical. In actuality, I was employed at the party headquarters up to my resignation from Congress. Shortly after taking office as MLA, I tendered my resignation from the party as well. I had resigned, but no one knew till then,” the former state chief minister claimed.

“Sonia Gandhi and I never met. To state that I met Sonia Gandhi and shared my feelings with her would be unfounded. From the perspective of the election, it is a political statement, according to Chavan.

Chavan joined the governing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) last month after leaving the Congress, and the party nominated him from Maharashtra for the Rajya Sabha election.

Later on, Chavan was proclaimed elected without opposition to the Rajya Sabha. 2010 saw Chavan resign as chief minister in response to claims that he was involved in the Mumbai Adarsh housing fraud. In addition, he led the state Congress from 2014 to 2019.

Two of the three charges that are now pending against Chavan have anything to do with the Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society.

In 2000, Chavan was Maharashtra’s minister of revenue when the Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society was reportedly given property in Colaba via illicit means.
