Rahul Gandhi’s comment on a caste census: “Congress wants to divide Hindus”

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked the Congress over Rahul Gandhi’s “Jitni Abadi Utna Haq” (The more the population, the higher the rights) comment on the caste census in Bihar. He said that the Congress wanted to split Hindus and ruin the nation.

Speaking at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s “Parivartan Mahasankalp” rally in Jagdalpur in Chhattigarh’s Bastar, where elections are imminent, Modi added that the poor make up the majority of both castes and the country’s population and questioned whether the Congress has abandoned its “minorities have the first right” stance.

“The Congress has been developing a narrative since yesterday. “Jitni Abadi Utna Haq,” they utter. Since the poor make up the majority of the population in the nation, in my opinion, they are also the largest group of people, and their wellbeing is my primary concern. Added Modi.

“What would Manmohan Singh, the previous prime minister, be contemplating? Manmohan Singh, a former Indian prime minister, had said that minorities, namely Muslims, have a first right to the nation’s resources. However, the Congress currently contends that the people will determine who has the first right. Does Congress now wish to restrict minorities’ rights?” he continued.

Rahul Gandhi commented on the caste census results for Bihar in a post on X on Monday, writing, “The caste census of Bihar has indicated that OBC + SC + ST are 84% there. Only 3 of the Central Government’s 90 secretaries, who manage 5% of India’s budget, come from the OBC. Therefore, it is crucial to understand India’s caste statistics. We promise that as the population grows, so will the rights.

Who would have the first right if it is determined based on population, Modi questioned? Who is the population leader? Who will be entitled? Congress must make it clear whether or not rights will be distributed based on population. Does Congress intend to restrict minorities’ rights?

Should Hindus, who make up the majority of the population, demand all of their rights? Congress was questioned by Modi.

In addition, Modi said that the Congress was not being led by leaders but rather was working in concert with anti-national elements and that it also had a covert agreement with another nation.

“I’ve been saying this for a while, and I’ll say it again: the Congress party is no longer led by members of the Congress; members of the Congress are no longer in charge of the Congress party; and the major members of the Congress are keeping quiet. Even after all of this, they are not asked for their opinion or given the opportunity to speak,” he stated.

“The Congress has now been contracted out. Congress is now being managed from behind the scenes by those who engage in such games and conspire with anti-national forces. Modi said that Congress was attempting to split up the nation and eliminate the Hindu population.

He said that he created all of his plans with the underprivileged in mind, saying, “For me, the underprivileged in our nation are the greatest caste. The nation will inevitably prosper if the poor are cared for properly.

He said that Congress has not yet revealed its covert agreement with another nation.

After the deal, Congress enjoys disparaging India in its speeches. It has enjoyed painting a negative picture of India’s positive aspects. It seems that they no longer love the nation, he remarked.

Additionally, he said that the Congress had turned “loktantra,” or democracy, into “loottantra,” or corruption, and “prjatantra,” or democracy, into “parivartantra,” or dynasty.

Additionally, Modi cited Chhattisgarh’s Congress-led administration as the source of corruption and rising crime. Five states, including Chhattisgarh, will have elections before the end of the year.

“At times, it seems as if Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh are competing to have the most crimes committed in their respective states. Development in Chhattisgarh can only be seen in the posters and banners of Congress officials or in their personal bank accounts, according to Modi.

He said that he would not let the Congress to acquire control of the Nagarnar steel factory since the party had a history of stealing Chhattisgarh’s natural riches.

“By propagating false information, Congress is attempting to take over the Nagarnar Steel Plant. Modi has promised that it won’t take place. Owners of this steel factory are Bastar’s brother and sister. You are entitled to it. Congress, which on Tuesday observed the Bastar bandh and claimed that the Centre was trying to privatize the Nagarnar steel factory, would not be given the opportunity to infringe upon it, Modi added.

He said that Congress opposed the opening of the steel mill in Bastar because it intended to engage in raw material corruption.

“Neither the CM nor his ministers attended the inauguration and foundation-laying ceremony of the development projects today, which shows they are uninterested in the growth and welfare of the state,” he stated.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel responded to Modi’s accusations by saying that neither he nor his administration are opposed to the project.

“We are the only ones that provided the plant with land. The problem is that the Union government placed the factory on the disinvestment list before to its official opening. They wanted to sell the facility… A Bastar bandh was declared because we needed confirmation that the Nagarnar facility wouldn’t be sold to private parties. I continue to advocate against the facility being sold to private interests, Baghel said, adding that the Congress has submitted several letters advocating the same.
