Rainfall in Punjab and Haryana causes the Hathnikund Barrage’s water level to rise

Rains that have lashed numerous areas of Punjab and Haryana over the last 24 hours have caused the water level in the Hathnikund barrage to rise quickly, according to authorities.

After a period of intense rain, the water flow rate in the Yamunanagar district of Haryana’s Hathnikund barrage increased from 87,177 cusecs at 8 am on Saturday to 2,40,832 cusecs at 12 pm.

According to the meteorological service, Ambala in Haryana had 14.4 mm of rainfall during the course of the previous 24 hours ending at 8.30 am, while Rohtak recorded 14.2 mm and Kurukshetra recorded 12 mm.

According to the MeT, Panchkula in Haryana saw the most rainfall, at 71.5 mm. According to meteorological statistics, Rupnagar in Punjab had the most rainfall, with 34 mm, followed by Amritsar with 32.6 mm, Gurdaspur with 32.8 mm, and Fatehgarh Sahib with 25.5 mm.

53 mm of rain fell at Union Territory Chandigarh, which serves as both states’ capital.
