Ram Navami 2024: During the ‘Surya Tilak’ ritual in Ayodhya, sunlight illuminates Lord Ram’s forehead

The Sun’s rays anointed Ram Lalla’s forehead on the festival of Ram Navami on Wednesday at the “Surya Tilak” or “Surya Abhishek” rite at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.

After the “pran pratishtha” of the Ram Lalla statue at the new temple, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated on January 22, this is the first Ram Navami.

A beam of light measuring 5.8 centimeters was directed onto the deity’s forehead using state-of-the-art scientific knowledge.

This year’s Ram Navami is particularly significant for believers all over the globe and for Ayodhya as it’s the first time the freshly constructed temple has celebrated the birth of Lord Ram. At 1:00 pm, the Surya Tilak rite was held in the sanctum sanctorum to commemorate the birth of Ram Lalla.

The Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) in Roorkee, a division of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), is home to the mirror and lens equipment that allows Indian scientists to build the Surya Tilak.

Alongside Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, PM Modi yelled “Jai Shri Ram” at a gathering in Assam as the sun began to shine on Ram Lalla in Ayodhya.

“This birthday of Lord Ram has come after 500 years, when he got the privilege of celebrating his birthday in his own home,” Prime Minister Modi said, describing the fresh spirit that has emerged across the whole nation.
