Ritesh Pandey, a BSP MP, leaves the party and joins the BJP

BSP Lok Sabha MP from Ambedkar Nagar Ritesh Pandey resigned from the party’s main membership on Sunday and joined the BJP in New Delhi ahead of the approaching general elections.

In his letter of resignation to BSP president Mayawati, Pandey said that he had concluded the party did not need his services since he has not received a call to join meetings in a while nor a communication from the party leadership.

On X, he posted his letter of resignation.

“I haven’t heard from the party leadership or been invited to party meetings in a long time. In his letter, Pandey said, “I made several attempts to contact and meet with you (Mayawati) and the party’s senior leadership, but it was unsuccessful.

Throughout this period, I kept running across local party employees and members and was engaged in a number of projects in the constituency. I have thus concluded that the party does not need my assistance or presence,” he said.

I am thus left with no choice than to withdraw from my main party membership. From an emotional standpoint, it’s not easy to decide to end the connection with the party, he said.

Mayawati was also asked by Pandey to accept his resignation.

A few hours later, he became a member of the BJP in front of prominent party figures including Bhupendra Singh, general secretary Tarun Chugh, and Uttar Pradesh unit chairman Baijayant Jay Panda.

Brajesh Pathak, the deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, was also in attendance.
