Road safety audit in Rohtak will concentrate on school buses

All of the district’s and city’s major thoroughfares will undergo a safety assessment to identify areas that are prone to accidents and address any shortcomings.

The purpose of the exercise, according to Rohtak Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Vaishali Singh, was to guarantee increased road safety in the district. She made this statement while presiding over a review meeting of the district-level committees of the several departments involved in this regard on Tuesday. The district administration will put together a team to carry out the audit, according to the ADC.

She said, “The departments in question will address the issues identified in the safety audit as soon as feasible.” ADC Singh instructed authorities to address accident-prone locations that had already been identified by taking the required action right away.

After going over the Safe School Vehicle Policy, the ADC gave the District Education Officer (DEO) instructions to tell the private school management to abide by the policy’s terms.

She directed the authorities of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) to provide school bus drivers with training. “School buses will be inspected to check for violation of norms in a special campaign and action will be taken as per rules if any deficiencies are found,” she added.

The ADC requested that health authorities work to shorten the time it takes ambulances to get in hotspots in the event of an emergency. After reading the Mining Department committee’s report, the officer requested that all SDMs, tehsildars, and Block Development and Panchayat Officers (BDPOs) notify the Mining Officer right once if they become aware of any instances of illicit mining.

The ADC instructed the representatives of the Health Department to enter and update the data on drug addicts on the “Prayas” application on a weekly basis. “Under the drug-free Haryana campaign, all departments should establish better coordination,” the speaker said.

The meeting, which was presided over by the ADC, was attended by SDMs Ashish Kumar and Subhash Chander Joon, RTA Secretary Sunil Kumar, Additional Superintendent of Police Logesh Kumar, District Development and Panchayat Officer Rajpal Chahal, DEO Manjeet Malik, District Town Planner Sumandeep, and representative of the Road Safety Organization Subhash Gupta.
