Mohali: The management disappears and illegal transactions from bank accounts cost at least Rs 8 cr

More than twenty to twenty-five Mullanpur village people have complained to the Mohali police about money being taken from their bank accounts without their knowledge. Raids have been conducted by the police in an attempt to apprehend the bank manager, Gaurav (35), who has been evading capture since the heist was made public.

The police have not yet been provided with information on the bank accounts and the entire amount of money that was taken out of the bank unlawfully, according to Mullanpur DSP Dharamvir Singh. “The bank representatives are currently investigating the situation and will provide us all the information. In the meanwhile, people have complained to us, saying that money was taken out of their accounts without their knowledge. Although this is not the final amount, they claim that their losses exceed Rs 8 crore. Additionally, some customers are complaining to the bank. As a result, the precise amount will be determined when the bank provides us with the information,” he said.

In an effort to apprehend the culprit, he said, the police have been conducting raids at several locations. He said, “We will also compile information about the people whose accounts the manager moved the money to.”

According to the police, before moving money, the bank manager altered the phone numbers associated with the accounts, preventing the account holders from receiving notifications about the transactions.
