Roadshows and nukkad gatherings make Karnal a lively place

As the Karnal Lok Sabha constituency prepares for an intriguing electoral contest, Congress nominee Divyanshu Budhiraja focused on his roadshow and “nukkad” meetings to engage voters at the grassroots level, while BJP candidate and former chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar chose to conduct a roadshow to gain support.

On Thursday, Khattar conducted a roadshow in the Gharaunda Assembly seat, while Budhiraja used the same day to conduct a number of meetings in the Nilokheri Assembly sector.

With more than nine years as chief minister, Khattar is doing all in his power to win over people before the elections. He has held roadshows in each of the district’s Assembly seats, bringing large audiences from all around the area.

At a public outreach event, Khattar emphasized the accomplishments of the state government’s work under his leadership as well as those of the Union administration under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He urged the populace to cast ballots in order to support Modi. “The BJP administrations at the federal and state levels have made outstanding contributions to the well-being of the populace. He said, “Transparency in governance has been brought about by both regimes.

Alongside Gharaunda MLA Harvinder Kalyan, Khattar outlined the accomplishments of the Modi administration and asserted that they had benefited the populace. He also discussed the actions taken by the state government, including social programs, academic reforms, and the construction of infrastructure. He also emphasized the repeal of Article 370A.

“We have eliminated nepotism and corruption and given jobs to only deserving candidates from all sectors of society,” he said.

Conversely, Divyanshu Budhiraja, the Congress candidate, began his campaign trail in Jhanjhari village and used both his roadshow and “nukkad” sessions to interact with residents of neighboring villages. He was particularly interested in inflation and unemployment. In addition, he addressed the matter of Khattar’s dismissal from the chief ministership by the BJP leadership and advised voters not to support someone who has already been “rejected” by their own party.

He brought to light the resentment and anti-incumbency sentiment that the people of the Panipat and Karnal districts had against the BJP, particularly towards Sanjay Bhatia, the current MP and former chief minister.

Along with offering a workable alternative for growth, he also offered solutions for the issues of infrastructure transformation and unemployment. He pledged to solve the issues raised by the populace if elected as an MP after listening to their worries during his visit.

Roadshows and ‘nukkad’ gatherings have also been used to engage the public by INLD-backed NCP (Sharad Pawar) candidate Maratha Virender Verma, BSP candidate Inderjeet Jalwana, JJP candidate Devender Kadian, and other candidates. They claim that the candidates running for Congress and the BJP are outsiders. While Jalmana is also focused on development and regional concerns, Maratha pledged to provide work opportunities.

He is also worried about the issues that farmers are facing. Additionally, Kadian has stepped up his polling campaign and promised agricultural improvements while on the campaign road. He also assured the young with employment.
