Robbers inspired by Dhoom captured

New Delhi: According to an official on Sunday, three people were taken into custody by the police on robbery charges. The group reportedly employed high-speed motorbikes during the robbery, taking inspiration from the Bollywood flick Dhoom. They were recognized as Taufiq (24), Istekar (22), and Ashraf (23). “On April 10, a tip-off was received about the Ashraf’s presence in the Johripur area,” said DCP Amit Goel, head of the criminal section.

The three were later captured during operations in this region and in Loni (UP). According to the police, 26 robbery and snatching incidents that were reported in Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad over the previous two weeks were resolved thanks in part to their detention. The accused admitted that Nazakat Ali, also referred to as KTM, was the gang leader during questioning. PTI

1.26 lakh infractions for traffic

New Delhi: The Delhi Traffic Police said on Sunday that in the first three months of 2024, over 1.26 lakh commuters were arrested for stop-line breaches, a 20% increase over the same time the previous year. In contrast to 1,05,317 in 2023 at the same time, the police said that they had started specific campaigns against stop-line infractions and had booked 1,26,084 offenders between January 1 and March 31. The top ten traffic circles with the highest number of challans issued in 2024 were the subject of a detailed examination, according to the traffic police. According to the statement, “this study enables focused enforcement actions to increase road safety by highlighting the regions with the highest frequency of traffic infractions.” PTI
