Robert Vadra makes a suggestion to run for office saying, “Amethi voters expect me to represent them.”

Robert Vadra, the spouse of Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, entered the Amethi race on Thursday, declaring that he would run from Amethi if he chose to enter politics and that the people in the district looked on him to represent them.

Vadra made a stronger case to agencies today, saying, “The people of Amethi realise that they have made a mistake by electing Smriti Irani and now they want someone from the Gandhi family to represent them.” Vadra had flirted with the idea of running for office even on the eve of the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

“The person speaking on behalf of Rae Bareli and Amethi need to discuss progress rather than prejudice. Amethi is furious with Smriti Irani, the MP it now has. They think something went wrong. She is not a frequent visitor. Vadra said, “She is solely concerned with maligning the Gandhi family, making charges, and abusing her position.

The Gandhi family has labored in Amethi, Rae Bareli, Sultanpur, and Jagdishpur for many years, he said.

Vadra, the son-in-law of former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, said, “The people of Amethi feel they have made a mistake by electing Smriti Irani and defeating Rahul Gandhi who had to scout for another segment. They now want someone from the Gandhi family to come back.”

“The people of Amethi will give us (the Gandhi family) a massive mandate,” he said. They anticipate that whenever I enter politics, I will represent Amethi.
