SDMs assess the mandis’s wheat procurement preparations

SDMs of Nakodar, Shahkot, and Jalandhar-1 visited several mandis today to assess the plans for seamless procurement during this season, as wheat arrival in grain markets is anticipated to begin on April 10.

During the season, the district aims to acquire around 5.18 lakh MT of wheat. In 80 mandis across the area, suitable facilities have been established for this.

Today, representatives from the Mandi Board, procurement organizations, and food supply visited the mandis in Nakodar, Shahkot, and Kartarpur. Other attendees were SDMs Gursimran Singh of Nakodar, Rishab Bansal of Shahkot, and SDM Balbir Raj of Jalandhar-1.

In order to make sure that the necessary preparations were made for potential inclement weather, they also spoke with the Ahtiyas. In order to ensure that farmers had no problems, they also verified that mandis have power and drinking water.
