SP Will Only Join Congress’ Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra After Reaching a Seat-Sharing Agreement, According to Akhilesh Yadav

The Congress was only able to secure Raebareli as a seat in the most recent Lok Sabha elections. For the Congress, Rahul Gandhi’s loss of Amethi’s stronghold to Smriti Irani was nothing short of shocking.

According to the reports, Akhilesh Yadav may declare to run alone against the Bhagwant Man-led Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab and Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress in Uttar Pradesh if the Congress fails to resolve the seat-sharing issue within the next day or two.

In response to a query on the Samajwadi Party’s participation in the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra organized by the Congress, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said, “We have exchanged numerous lists and had multiple rounds of discussions.” Following the completion of seat-sharing, the Samajwadi Party intends to engage on its Nyay Yatra.”

Akhilesh Yadav had said a few weeks before on X, the previous Twitter platform, that a deal had been sealed and Congress would be running for 11 seats. The president of the UP Congress, however, dismissed it, saying that discussions are still ongoing and that no such finalization has occurred.
