Sushil Rinku, Jalandhar AAP MP, stirs up a rift by urging a partnership with Congress

Sushil Rinku, an AAP MP from Jalandhar, caused a sensation when he said that the coalition with the Congress in Punjab would assist achieve positive outcomes.

The lone MP for the AAP, who met with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann yesterday, has spoken a different opinion by endorsing the coalition with the Congress.

“The alliance between the Congress and AAP has helped the parties to have their Mayor in Chandigarh,” Rinku said in an interview with a private station here. There, the partnership experiment has proven fruitful. In other states, both parties have declared their partnership, but not in Punjab.

He went on, saying, “Leaders from both parties should put aside their individual agendas and seek to form an alliance, even in Punjab.”

It’s interesting to note that Rinku has mentioned creating an alliance with the Congress, a party he left a mere ten months before, in order to run as the AAP’s candidate from Jalandhar in the 2023 parliamentary by-election. Calls were not returned by Rinku.
