Attack on Andhra Chief Minister: Accused to appear in court

The primary culprit in the assault on Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Vemula Satish Kumar (19), is probably going to be brought before the Fourth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Vijayawada to provide an account of what happened.

According to what has been learned, Satish Kumar received a notification from investigative officials under CrPC Section 164, which deals with recording confessions and statements.

Following interrogation, authorities freed Vemula Durga Rao, who was thought to be connected to the crime. Reporters were informed by Durga Rao that he was freed late on Saturday. He said that after spending four days in police detention from April 16 to 20, he was freed since there was no proof of his guilt.

The police are attempting to convert Satish into an approver despite the lack of circumstantial evidence supporting Durga Rao’s involvement. The court will make a determination on the event based on his deposition, according to Satish’s attorney, Abdus Saleem.

On April 18, Satish Kumar was brought before the court by the police after his arrest. Detectives told the court that Satish was prompted to assault the Chief Minister on April 13 during his “Memanta Siddham” bus yatra by someone else.

It is alleged in the witness testimony presented in court that Durga Rao threatened to provide Satish a large sum of money if he hurt Jagan. The subject of who prompted Satish has been brought up by Durga Rao’s release, however.

“It seems like the whole inquiry was done poorly. The police’s assertions are unsupported by any proof. Satish’s attorney claimed that the police were using an innocent person as a scapegoat in order to wrap up the investigation.

Police authorities were not available for comment when TNIE approached them.
