Tamil Nadu chief minister charges governor of disrespecting assembly by speaking differently than usual

Governor RN Ravi of Tamil Nadu was charged on Thursday by Chief Minister MK Stalin of defaming the century-old Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly by declining to deliver the traditional speech written by the Council of Ministers on February 12.

This accusation was made by the Chief Minister in response to the debate on the “Resolution of Thanks” to the governor’s speech. The Chief Minister expressed his displeasure with the governor’s choice to read just the first page of the prepared text and add a few sentences of his own.

“The document created by the State Cabinet must be read aloud by the governor exactly as it is. However, the Governor’s actions suggest that he is using this August House for political purposes. This isn’t meant as a slight on the governing party. However, it is an affront to the millions of Tamil Nadu residents and the state’s century-old legislature. “The governor’s actions violated the Constitution,” the CM said.

“There is another achievement that could be considered as the supreme achievement of ours,” the chief minister said, reciting a lengthy list of his government’s accomplishments during the previous 33 months. Enemies of our race are becoming enraged and envious of Tamil Nadu’s growth. The greatest accomplishment of the Dravidian type of governance is this. Those who are envious of this administration express their rage in many ways. This also applies to the governor, who has a constitutional office. However, we can’t remain quiet.”
