Telangana: The chief ministers have a difficult job ahead of them in the LS elections

The Congress Cabinet members, who have just been in office for four months, have a difficult job ahead of them as the state prepares for the Lok Sabha elections. As ministers, they are compelled to demonstrate their abilities in the constituencies under their supervision.

Ten ministers have been assigned by the party high command as constituency in-charges. These ministers are responsible for managing internal divisions, animosity towards recently appointed leaders, dissatisfaction among lower-level leaders, vulnerabilities of candidates, and other urgent matters.

The BJP and BRS are running vigorous campaigns, which the in-charges also have to deal with.

The BRS is not holding back in its criticism of the incumbent Congress, even as the BJP strives to secure at least 10 Lok Sabha seats in order to advance its hopes to establish the state’s next administration.

Ponguleti’s predicament

Even though the Congress hasn’t revealed its nominee for the Khammam seat, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, the responsible minister, has a challenging job ahead of her. If his brother Ponguleti Prasad Reddy wins the ticket, he would need to appease Minister Thummala Nageswar, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and other contenders. In the unlikely event that Prasad Reddy is not selected, the followers of Srinivasa Rao could not put in as much effort to help the official candidate win.

In Komatireddy, Nalgonda, In an attempt to maintain control over the seat, Venkat Reddy is working hard to ensure that K Raghuveer Reddy, the party’s nominee and the son of prominent politician K Jana Reddy, prevails. The minister has election preparation sessions in each Assembly segment and spends at least five days a week in the Lok Sabha constituency. Venkat Reddy is certain that Raghuveer Reddy would win handily.

There’s heat in Karimnagar.

The challenge facing Ponnam Prabhakar, the in-charge of the Karimnagar seat, is challenging. In addition to dealing with the intense campaigning of BJP MP Bandi Sanjay, Prabhakar must make sure that the Congress candidate, when chosen, makes the most of the short time frame. The BRS and BJP candidates have finished their first two rounds of campaigning, in the meanwhile.

Minister D Sridhar Babu is having a difficult time in Peddapalli due to opposition from lower-class leaders who do not agree with the official candidate. Although G Vamshi, the party’s candidate, has the support of the top command, as Sridhar Babu has been attempting to persuade them, the second-rung leaders are incensed that the Gaddam family has been given undue advantage by having many relatives get tickets.

Second-rung leaders not pleased

The challenge ahead of Thummala Nageswar Rao, the in-charge of the Mahabubabad seat, is comparatively simpler. The majority of the Assembly seats that comprise the Mahabubabad Lok Sabha seat were won by the party. But according to reports, the second-rung leaders are not thrilled with Balram Naik, the contender, since they feel that he has ignored them for the last ten years.

The Hindutva element

Komatireddy In Secunderabad, the seat where Venkat Reddy has been designated as the in-charge, he too confronts a formidable opponent. BRS MLA Danam Nagender, who just joined the party, has been fielded by the Congress. This may not be a good thing, according to sources, as Nagender was accused of harassing a Congress cadre when he was a member of the BRS. Present MP G Kishan Reddy, who is still well-liked in the district, was put up by the BJP. In order to keep the seat, Kishan is counting on the Hindutva movement. T Padma Rao, a candidate with strong voter ties, has been fielded by the BRS.

Jupally in jeopardy

Groupism exists in the party at all levels, according to Jupally Krishna Rao, the in-charge of the Nagarkurnool seat. The party rejected the candidacy of former MLA SA Sampath in favour of former MP Mallu Ravi. Even though Sampath has openly backed Mallu Ravi, his supporters may not be as kind and might not contribute to the official candidate’s triumph. Both P Bharat and RS Praveen Kumar are formidable contenders; P Bharat is the son of current MP P Ramulu, while BRS has nominated P Ramulu.

Surekha has very high chances.

The hardest assignment is probably ahead of Konda Surekha, the person in charge of the Medak seat. Former chief minister and leader of the BRS, K Chandrasekhar Rao, was born and raised in the district of Medak. BRS troubleshooter T Harish Rao is doing all out to ensure that P Venkatram Reddy, the candidate for the Pink Party, wins the election, seeing it as a matter of pride. Six out of the seven Assembly seats that make up the Medak Lok Sabha constituency were won by the pink party. M Raghunandan Rao, a fiery leader and former MLA, is the saffron party’s candidate against Congresswoman Neelam Madhu Mudiraj.

The task at hand for D Anasuya, popularly known as Seethakka, is to unseat the BJP from the Adilabad seat. She must do this by using every resource at her disposal to help Congress candidate Atram Suguna win. Former MP Godem Nagesh has been named by the BJP to succeed existing MP Soyam Bapu Rao, while former MLA Atram Sakkku has been nominated by the BRS. Seethakka’s task would be more difficult given that the Congress only won one Assembly segment in the Lok Sabha seat. Suguna, however, has a good reputation and is well-known in the constituency.

The second-rung leadership in Zaheerabad is unhappy with Damodar Rajanarasimha, the Health Minister, who is in charge of the seat, about the appointments to nominated positions. Strongman-like former MP Suresh Shetkar has been fielded by the Congress. The BRS fielded Gali Anil Kumar, who is likewise well-known in the sector, while the BJP fielded incumbent MP BB Patil.

A lot depends on the outcome of the election. The lack of zeal among the party cadre is concerning the ministers since a loss in the polls would damage their chances of being elected.Ministers who successfully fought for tickets for their close allies are particularly concerned.
