The Delhi High Court has halted Sunita Kejriwal’s summons in the voter list case

In an effort to reduce air pollution, Delhi’s Environment Minister, Gopal Rai, said on Monday that the odd-even automobile limitation program would be implemented in the city from November 13 to November 20.

At a news conference held here, Rai made the announcement. “In Delhi, the odd-even program will start after Diwali and continue from November 13 to November 20. After November 20, a decision about the scheme’s extension will be taken.”

Car use is alternated according to the number plate digits under the odd-even arrangement.

In order to put students’ health first, Rai also declared that all schools would suspend in-person instruction, with the exception of those in grades X and XII who were getting ready for board examinations.

Moreover, the government-mandated safe threshold for pollution levels in Delhi-NCR was surpassed seven or eight times on Monday morning, and the area was shrouded in a deadly haze for the sixth day in a row. Every day at 4 p.m., the 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) is measured. On Saturday, it was 415; on Sunday, it was 454. This led to the Center putting into effect all emergency actions outlined in the last Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) to address air pollution.

A 2018 research by The Energy and Resources Institute found that almost 40% of the PM 2.5 pollution in the nation’s capital is caused by vehicle emissions.
