The ‘Modi mantra’ is the focal point of V Muraleedharan’s Kerala campaign

V Muraleedharan, the BJP candidate for Attingal, speaks to a small group of people near Mamom on National Highway 66 as twilight sets. His discourse is dominated by Brand Modi.

The Union minister of state for foreign affairs, breaking with his typical tactic of criticizing state governments, urges voters to choose a government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Over the previous ten years, the NDA administration under Modi’s direction accomplished a great deal of beneficial work for the general public. He now want to finish his aim of giving everyone access to shelter, clean water to drink, power, and toilets, according to Muraleedharan.

“Good roads must link every location. Everyone will have access to healthcare and jobs thanks to the NDA. To realize this, cast your vote on the Lotus symbol.

Before getting inside his campaign vehicle, a jeep that has been adapted with an elevated top, Muraleedharan takes saffron scarves from fans and strikes up a brief conversation with the local party officials. A truck with percussionists and an announcement jeep are part of his convoy.

Muraleedharan gestures to onlookers at the side of the road as the motorcade travels down the highway. Attakkulam, which seems to be a BJP stronghold, is the next destination. A sizable gathering waiting to greet the candidate beside a pond, which serves as the location’s namesake.

A few old ladies give him hugs, while others bless him by placing their hands on his head. Kids give him flowers, and kids gather to take selfies.

After hurriedly returning to the vehicle, Muraleedharan ends his speech by repeating the Modi mantra. There is only one week remaining in the campaign, so he is eager to cover as much ground as possible.

The motorcade winds its way to the KSRTC Junction, passing through a number of residential neighborhoods. Former BJP state president Muraleedharan shakes hands with each fan that comes up to him. Kodumon Junction is the next destination. Once again, Muraleedharan is warmly welcomed by a sizable gathering. As he steps out of the vehicle and says hello to the top officials gathered there, party members yell slogans.

He bows to the folks waiting in line to put saffron scarves around his neck and smiles. Here comes another round of “Modi’s guarantee.”

We’ve been lobbying for more than seven hours. The accompanying percussionists and party workers seem a little worn out. However, Muraleedharan seems composed, confident, and upbeat—as if he absorbs strength and confidence from every campaign location.
