There is a chance of a severe heatwave in 55 AP mandals today
On Saturday, there’s a chance that up to 55 mandals—11 in Srikakulam, 23 in Vizianagaram, 15 in Parvathipuram Manyam, and 6 in Anakapalle—will experience a severe heatwave, while 197 mandals are expected to record heatwaves.
The IMD Amaravati Centre reports that isolated thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are anticipated across NCAP, Yanam, SCAP, and Rayalaseema on Saturday. Weather that is hot, muggy, and uncomfortable is expected in some areas across NCAP, Yanam, SCAP, and Rayalaseema. Over Rayalaseema, warm evenings are probably in store for isolated areas. 117 mandals registered heatwaves and 61 mandals recorded severe heatwaves on Friday. With a maximum temperature of 45.70C, Saluru in the Parvathipuram Manyam district was the highest, followed by Simhadripuram in the YSR at 45.60C, Banaganapalle in Nandyala, Mekalavaripalli in Prakasam at 45.5C, and Pipalli in Chittoor at 44.4C.
