Two are being detained in Lucknow for the murder of an Odia lady

According to police, the boyfriend of an Odisha lady who was discovered dead in a vehicle in Vrindavan Colony last week has been detained in connection with her murder.

The two, who were detained on Sunday, have been identified as Kanpur residents Vishnu Kumar Dwivedi and his assistant Anuj Kumar Gupta, also known as Sooraj Gupta. Both have admitted to the offense.

Vishnu, the main suspect, admitted to the police that he was married to a Kanpuri lady and had a girlfriend before the marriage. He had just met the victim, and the two had become intimate.

The lady was from a low-income household and lived in Odisha. According to the police, her parents had to borrow money in order to go to Lucknow in order to identify the corpse.

According to Vishnu, their arguments began when the victim learned that he was married and had a second girlfriend. He said that he was tired of the girl and that they often argued over the matter.

He asked his pals to join him at the party he had organized for his birthday on August 9, the day of the tragedy, according to SHO, SGPGI, R.R. Singh.

He persuaded the victim to sip alcohol, which he and his companion Anuj provided her in large quantities. They placed her body in a vehicle that they abandoned in the brush near a water tank in sector 19 of Vrindavan Colony after strangling her to death when she was stone drunk, according to the police. They then left the area.

The police have not yet determined how the automobile came into the hands of Vishnu, who boarded an express train from Charbagh to escape to Dhanbad but was apprehended. The car belongs to one Ravindra of Delhi.
