Two policeman had a close call when an IED explodes in Chhattisgarh due to Naxalites

An official said that two police officers barely escaped on Wednesday after an IED exploded by Naxalites in the Bijapur region of Chhattisgarh.

According to him, the incident happened close to Somanpalli village on the Kutru-Farsegarh road as constable Sanjay and SHO Akash Masih of the Farsegarh police station were driving to Bijapur town for official business.

“Naxalites set off the explosion as the automobile was close to Somanpalli, inflicting damage to the car’s hood. The explosion did not injure either of the two passengers, he added.

When the tragedy happened, a combined force from the Chhattisgarh Armed Forces and the Farsegarh police was conducting an area domination operation, he added.

Security staff raced to the scene after being notified, and a combing operation was started in the vicinity, he said.
