UP security has been stepped up in preparation for the holiday

For tomorrow’s celebration of the 77th Independence Day to go smoothly and without incident, extensive security precautions have been prepared in Uttar Pradesh.

This year, Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is also hosting a number of events relating to the “Meri Mati, Mera Desh” campaign. The Raj Bhavan and Vidhan Bhavan in the state capital will host the major ceremony for raising the flag as well as other important events.

 

A significant police deployment has been undertaken, according to Special DG (Law & Order) Prashant Kumar, to maintain security throughout all events in the state.

 

 

He said that 7 companies of the CAPF force, 3 companies of the SDRF, and 238 PAC companies had been sent to all the districts for security preparations.

 

In light of the significant Independence Day celebrations, Kumar said that three more superintendents of police and six deputy superintendents of police had been sent to Lucknow.

 

He said that by locating critical areas and hotspots across the state’s districts, suitable police measures had been created. At all significant hotspots and event locations, arrangements for QRT teams, rooftop duty, police in plain clothes duty, and duty of female police officers have been made.

 

“Security measures at significant institutions including railway/bus stations, malls, hotels, dhaba/sarai, religious places, and essential installations in all the districts are secured by continuous inspection, patrols, mock drills, and action in accordance with SOP. At the entrance to each district, routine patrols and vehicle inspection are also conducted.Drone cameras and high definition CCTV cameras are used to monitor all significant and delicate locations, he said.

 

According to him, programs related to police bands performing patriotic songs are being organized under the Meri Mati-Mera Desh campaign at every district’s police lines, police stations, and police offices in accordance with the government’s instructions, along with hoisting the tricolor at every house, the national flag, and saluting the heroes.

 

According to the Special DG, appropriate orders have been received from the headquarters level to guarantee effective security measures and efficient traffic arrangements for the Tiranga Yatras that will be conducted in all of the state’s districts.
