Voter slip and app to look up names on a list, claims Kangra DC

Hemraj Bairwa, the District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner of Kangra, said that qualified voters may get their digital picture voter slip using the Election Commission of India’s “Voter Helpline” app. He said that since the software has so many useful functions at their disposal, voters could find it to be of great use.

He said that this software could be used to do significant activities such as locating one’s name on the voter list, registering it there, updating voter information, and connecting the voter ID card to a cell phone or Aadhaar number. In addition, this app provides access to candidate data, election results, election procedures, and other EVM-related information. On this app, complaints pertaining to elections may also be filed.

He continued by saying that the software has robust privacy protections and doesn’t save any type of user data. He said that the Voter Helpline app and the National Voter Service Portal (NVSP) allow for online registration.

In order for eligible voters to participate in the next Lok Sabha and Assembly byelections, the District Election Officer has made an appeal to all non-registered voters to register their names in the voter lists by May 4.
