Voters reject horse-trading and turncoats, according to Himachal Pradesh Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan

Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan said today that on June 1, voters in the state will teach BJP turncoats and horse-trading politicians a lesson by electing the Congress candidates to all six Assembly seats and four parliamentary seats.

“This is the country of gods. Voters dissatisfied with these six disqualified MLAs will not support them in the future. Chauhan said at this place today that “the people will not accept such kind of politics in the state.”

He said that the leaders and cadres of the BJP were angry with it for drawing them away from the Congress and then fielding them in the Assembly by-election. There is animosity among BJP leaders and activists in almost every Assembly constituency where these six former Congress MLAs have been granted tickets. Even more politicians have chosen to quit the BJP, according to Chauhan.

Chauhan accused the BJP of attempting to topple the government despite having a clear mandate and said that the BJP had been discussing “operation Lotus” from the day the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu administration took office. “Attempts have been made by the BJP to topple the administration. It ran a candidate in the Rajya Sabha elections with the intention of purchasing votes, even though it did not have the majority. Everyone can see why six members of Congress cast a “cross” ballot in the elections,” he remarked.

The BJP leaders are now asserting that the government no longer has the majority. In the House of 62, a government with 34 MLAs cannot be in the minority. He said, “The BJP is attempting to mislead people with such ludicrous allegations because it knows it is losing the polls.

Chauhan went on to say that despite budgetary difficulties, the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu administration had fulfilled its commitments and completed a number of other developmental projects during its 15-month term. “The OPS was put into effect at the government’s first Cabinet meeting. The BJP moved to the electoral commission to suspend the implementation of the Rs 1,500 pension for women, which was also scheduled to begin in April. He claimed that almost 22,000 government posts in a variety of agencies have been granted, and significant work in the fields of health and education has been completed.
