Voting by themselves in a distant Arunachal area

The lone female voter cast her ballot at the unusual Malogam polling station in the Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh on Friday, according to authorities, who reported 100% turnout.

According to a district official, 44-year-old Sokela Tayang cast her ballot at around 1 pm. A group of poll workers walked approximately 40 kilometers in hazardous terrain to put up a voting booth in the isolated polling place for the lone voter.

“I am thrilled to use my right to vote and I want to thank the election officials for allowing me to do so,” Sokela said.

Very few families live in Malogam, and all of the others—aside from Tayang—are registered voters at other polling places, according to the election official. However, she refused to cast her ballot at any other booth.
