Western UP state problem is brought up by a union minister

Union Minister of State for Animal Husbandry Dr. Sanjeev Balyan brought up the divisive topic of a breakaway state of Western Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The problem could take precedence over the contentious topic of Jat reservations.

The minister did, however, make it plain that he personally believed Western Uttar Pradesh ought to be its own state.

Dr. Sanjeev Baliyan recently brought up the subject at the International Jat Parliament, calling for the division of West UP into a separate state with Meerut as its capital. Political analysts think the minister’s comments was intended to offset the Jats’ persistent demand for reservations.

In their opinion, Dr. Sanjeev Balyan would find it difficult to keep the Jat vote while RLD President Jayant Chaudhary is making a return by solidifying his legacy. All of these indicate that the Jayant Chaudhary camp and the Jat Leaders both made an attempt to stoke the debate about Jat reservations in order to win the votes of Jats.

By bringing up the idea of a distinct state, Dr. Sanjeev Balyan attempted to sidestep the subject of reservations.

The SP is said to oppose the creation of an independent state. If Jayant is now bringing up the subject publicly, Akhilesh Yadav seems to be the only one it is intended to make uncomfortable. Power politics are prevalent throughout the whole game.

Speaking to the media, Dr. Sanjeev Balyan said that he personally believed that a distinct state should exist, despite the fact that the general people has long called for this. “If the whole community makes the demand, I would support them since there is no AIIMS or IIT in this area. Additionally, there is no high court bench. A distinct state is essential for ensuring access to justice, education, and healthcare. It will result in additional neighborhood development, he said.

The All India Jat Mahasabha, on the other hand, stated that a significant meeting will be conducted in Aligarh, Agra, and Bijnor to rally support for the Jat reservations.

According to Pratap Chaudhary, state president of the All India Jat Mahasabha, a meeting would be called to discuss the demand for Jat quota in central services. On October 15, Bijnor will host it, followed by Aligarh on October 25, and Agra on October 27.

People from many other states, including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Delhi, he said, would take part in Bijnor as well as the other two districts. Following that, a national convention will be place on November 20 at Delhi’s Talkatora Stadium.
