Will follow the ruling of the party: Rahul about his battle with Amethi

Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, said on Wednesday that the party would decide whether or not he will run for the next Lok Sabha elections from Amethi, Uttar Pradesh.

At an INDIA bloc joint news conference in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, the Gandhi son was questioned over his Amethi nomination. Gandhi said that he will “abide by the party’s decision” in answer to the query.

“The party will decide on Amethi.” I’ll follow any order I’m given. These choices are made at our party’s Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting, the man said.

Amethi, one of Uttar Pradesh’s 80 Lok Sabha seats, was a Congress stronghold until 2019, when the Gandhi scion was beaten by BJP’s Smriti Irani, who garnered more than 50,000 votes.

In 2004, 2009, and 2014, Rahul Gandhi won the seat by defeating then-debutant Irani by a margin over one lakh votes.

Gandhi is running for office again from Wayanad in Kerala, a seat he won in the most recent general election. He ran for office in 2019 from both Wayanad and Amethi.

This time, the Samajwadi Party and the Congress are competing together in the Lok Sabha elections. As per their agreement, the Trinamool Congress has been allotted one seat, the SP will compete from 62 seats, and the grand old party will battle on 17 seats.

Additionally, there are rumors that Robert Vadra, the spouse of party national secretary Priyanka Gandhi, might run for office in the seat on behalf of the Congress.

Vadra had announced his intention to run for the seat earlier this month, claiming the incumbent MP was upsetting the people of Amethi.

“If I choose to run for office in Parliament, the people of Amethi want me to serve their constituency.”They feel they made a mistake by electing the current Member of Parliament, who really troubles them,” he told a news agency. “I want Priyanka Gandhi to become an MP first, and then I feel I can also come,” he had said.

However, Priyanka is probably going to start her electoral career from Raebareli, another UP Congress stronghold. Her mother Sonia Gandhi held the seat, however she has since gone to the Rajya Sabha.
