Woman in MP’s Guna Was “raped & tortured” for a month by her neighbor; wounds covered with chilli powder and sealed with glue

A neighbor in Guna, Madhya Pradesh, is said to have sexually assaulted and tormented a lady for a month in a distressing incident. Allegedly, the accused made demands for her to marry him and give him ownership of her parents’ property.

The 23-year-old lady, who lived with her mother, was reportedly restrained, subjected to sexual assault, belt-whipped, and physically abused with a water pipe, according to the police.

In order to stop her from screaming, the accused is also accused of applying chilli powder to her wounds and using adhesive to cover her lips.

The Times of India reports that the victim informed the police that one month before, the accused had taken her against her will to his home, where he had locked her in a room and denied her access to any kind of escape or contact.

She was tortured again on Tuesday night, but she was able to leave the home by some miracle. She traveled five kilometers through the night to get to the Cantonment police station in the morning.

The officers were horrified by her state when they arrived at the station. Her eyes were dilated, her lips were glue-sealed together, and there were obvious bruises all over her body.

Following her hospitalization, the victim’s health is stable, according to an update provided by police officer Dileep Rajoriya to the Hindustan Times. He said that during the time of the attack, the woman’s mother was not at home in Shivpuri.

According to the police, the accused was detained on Wednesday night while allegedly providing alcohol illegally. He has been charged with rape under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code, obscenity under Section 294, and voluntary harm under Section 323 of the Excise Act. Further charges may be brought following an inquiry.
