Workers from TDP and YSRCP scuffle in Andhra Pradesh, leaving many hurt

In Narasaraopet town in Andhra Pradesh, activists of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) clashed, resulting in several injuries, according to police reports.

According to a police officer, the incident started on Tuesday night when TDP candidate Chadalavada Aravinda Babu and party members visited the wards.

Workers from the TDP and YSRCP threw stones and bottles at one another, seriously injuring each other.

The wounded members received immediate treatment admission to a private hospital. Chadalawada Aravinda Babu, the contender for Narasaraopet MLA, suffered minor injuries.

An official said that further information would be released and that a lawsuit will be filed shortly.

Meanwhile, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Jana Sena Party (JSP) inked a seat-sharing agreement in Andhra Pradesh on Monday, ahead of the state assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
The head of the TDP and former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu, said that his party had “forged a formidable seat-sharing formula” with its allies.

In the parliamentary elections, the TDP will run for 17 seats, the JSP for two, and the BJP for six seats, according to the announcement.
According to the announcement, the TDP would run for 144 seats, the JSP for 21, and the BJP for 10 seats in the assembly elections.

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy declared that he is prepared to fight against the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and that Chandra Babu Naidu’s cycle is rusted, which is why other political parties are supporting him, following the announcement that the TDP would run in the Lok Sabha elections in coalition with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

“We have elections coming up. We are prepared to combat the coalition. The YSRCP would support the weaker segments, he said.

Following a humiliating loss in the 2019 elections, the TDP, which had previously been a member of the BJP-led National Democratic coalition until 2018, indicated interest in bringing the coalition back to life. There are 175 Assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
