Working President of the APCC Padmasree will not run for office

Vijayawada: Senior Congress politician and working president of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee, Sunkara Padmasree said on Tuesday that she would not be running for assembly. She expressed her desire to run for the Lok Sabha, but said that she was selected by the Congress party to run from the Vijayawada East Assembly seat.

Padmasree said in a press statement that she would not be running in the Assembly elections. She states, “I may not have Rs 40 crore, but I have over 40 cases against me,” with a nasty tone. The majority of these complaints were filed during the times I participated in dharnas and rallies on behalf of the people of Andhra Pradesh.

She went on to say that she was neither consulted nor provided with information when she was selected by the Congress leadership for the Vijayawada East seat. She went on to say that the election campaign is a means of resolving personal grievances and that she cannot engage in “revenge politics.” She said that she would work for the genuine Congress party and the Gandhi family. She shared a video of herself walking beside Rahul Gandhi as part of the Bharat Jodo Yatra in a comment on X.
