Wrestlers vs. Brij Bhushan case: Investigation nears conclusion, according to a Delhi Police source

As the inquiry nears its conclusion, investigators in the wrestlers v. Brij Bhushan case will soon present conversations, recordings, and testimonies of more than 150 witnesses in court, a Delhi Police source said on Wednesday.

The source claims that police have gathered a number of films, including the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) office’s CCTV footage.

In the past, the police had contacted five foreign wrestling federations in an effort to gather information on claims of harassment made by many athletes during international competitions. These federations have not yet responded, therefore they are waiting.

According to authorities, Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora examined the status of the probe and gave the go-ahead for the chargesheet that the police had submitted.

The official said, “The investigating officer will now wrap up the required processes and submit the reports to the Rouse Avenue Court.”

Due to complaints of sexual harassment, the Delhi Police filed two separate First Information Reports (FIRs) in April against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the head of the WFI.

The first FIR was filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code regarding the act of outraging modesty in response to allegations made by a kid.

The second FIR concentrates on thorough inquiries into the accusations brought out by adult complainants and utilises pertinent IPC provisions pertaining to outraging of modesty.

In the “Wrestlers v. Brij Bhushan case,” the father of the young wrestler involved has come out and said that his son made a “false” charge of sexual harassment against the chief.

According to the father, his actions were motivated by rage and irritation over the chief’s allegedly favouritism towards his daughter.
