Alejandro Garnacho Issues An Apology After Critical Tweets Were Forward Supported

After it was revealed that Alejandro Garnacho had apologized for liking social media postings criticizing the manager’s treatment of the Argentine striker, Erik ten Hag said that Manchester United’s team is not broken.

Garnacho “liked” two posts on X that attacked Ten Hag’s choice to replace him during the half of Bournemouth’s 2-2 tie with him the previous weekend.

The 19-year-old promptly disapproved of both messages and expressed regret to Ten Hag. Ten Hag had said that Garnacho would play in Sunday’s FA Cup semifinal between United and Coventry.

When asked whether the Garnacho incident demonstrated player dissatisfaction with Ten Hag, the under-fire Dutchman said, “I wouldn’t point to that.”

“Alejandro is a rookie player that needs a lot of experience. After he expressed regret, we moved on.

In his reply to Garnacho, Ten Hag seems to have taken note of the negative publicity after his earlier-season altercation with Jadon Sancho.

After accusing Ten Hag of leaving him out of a September loss against Arsenal, Sancho was banished to practice apart from the rest of the United team for a few months.

Since then, England winger Sancho has improved while on loan at Borussia Dortmund, who advanced to this week’s Champions League semifinals.

Ten Hag said, “We are not surprised by Jadon Sancho’s skill as a football player; that is not the problem.”

Naturally, I keep up with international soccer and keep track of players who are on loan at other teams.

“It was an amazing match between Dortmund and Atletico Madrid. Dortmund gave a fantastic performance, and this is good news for Jadon.” He contributed in some way to Dortmund’s outcome.

Ten Hag, who is fighting to save his job throughout a difficult season, cannot afford a shocking defeat to Coventry, a lower division team, at Wembley.

Casemiro, the midfielder for United, has been criticized for his recent performances, therefore he will need to step up his game.

Casemiro’s lackluster performance against Bournemouth last week, according to former Liverpool player Jamie Redknapp, was akin to him participating in a charity match.

Ten Hag, however, affirmed the importance of the Brazilian to United, stating: “I think we needed the six (position) when I arrived here and Casemiro was fantastic last season.”

“He battled a severe injury this season that he had never experienced before in his career, but he is such a winner,” Throughout his career, he has always prevailed and had success wherever he went.

“He is a fighter, which is why he also took home large trophies. He is a charismatic player who will lead us to success.”

When it was revealed later on Friday that Jason Wilcox had left Southampton in the second tier to take up the position of technical director at Old Trafford effective immediately, United began making plans for the next campaign.

Wilcox, 53, left Manchester City, where he had a reputation for developing young players and bringing in some of the greatest prospects, to join Southampton as their director of football last summer.

A statement from Manchester United said, “Jason Wilcox has joined Manchester United as technical director with immediate effect.”

“To achieve the highest standards of performance, he will collaborate with all technical areas of the football department.”
