Ashwin & Buttler IN; Jaiswal As An Impact Player? The probable starting lineup for Rajasthan Royals’ IPL 2024 match vs KKR

The top-of-the-table IPL 2024 match between the Rajasthan Royals and the Kolkata Knight Riders is set to take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday, April 16. With five victories from their six IPL games so far this season, the Sanju Samson-led team is atop the points standings with 10 points.

The Royals defeated the Punjab Kings by three wickets in their most recent game on Saturday, April 13, in Mullanpur. Now, they want to defeat Shreyas Iyer & Co. in order to get one step closer to making the IPL 2024 playoffs.

The Royals are expected to have both Jos Buttler and Ravichandran Ashwin back in the starting lineup for the crucial encounter; their substitutes against PBKS, Rovman Powell and Tanush Kotian, will take a backseat. The South African bowler Nandre Burger is another option the Royals have to replace Keshav Maharaj for the game against the Knight Riders.

Tuesday against KKR, if the Royals bat second, young Indian batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal will come in as an impact player, just as he did in the last game. The Royals are without Sandeep Sharma, who is now sidelined by fitness-related concerns, but having two strong pacers in Trent Boult and Avesh Khan. Kuldeep Sen has managed to play in a few games and take a few wickets while he has been out, but he still has a lot of room to grow.

This year, Riyan Parag and Sanju Samson have been productive run scorers for RR in the batting department; however, the same cannot be said about Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel. However, RR is sure to stick with the two since they are both very skilled batsmen who shown their abilities with the bat during the India-England Test series earlier this year.

Jos Buttler, England’s white-ball captain, will be expected to perform well. In his 100th IPL match, he defeated RCB by scoring 100 runs off of 58 balls without losing.
Yuzvendra Chahal will have an opportunity to make IPL history in the match against KKR by being the first player reach 200 wickets. To attain the milestone, he has to be dismissed twice more.

Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson (C & WK), Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Nandre Burger, Avesh Khan, Kuldeep Sen, and Yuzvendra Chahal are the probable members of the Rajasthan Royals’ playing XI for the IPL 2024 match against KKR.
