Bumrah is in excellent physical condition for the Ireland tour, according to BCCI Secretary Jay Shah

Jasprit Bumrah is in terrific physical condition and may accompany India on their forthcoming August tour of Ireland, according to BCCI secretary Jay Shah, who made the announcement on Thursday.

The series roster will probably be made public this week. The three T20Is for this year will take place on August 18, 20, and 23. The pacer had successful back surgery in March, and hasn’t participated in a competitive competition since a T20I encounter against Australia at home in September.

 

He had also missed a substantial portion of the Asia Cup play when his back problem first became obvious.

The next T20I series against Australia at home saw him temporarily return to the field, but his ailment reappeared.

Bumrah was chosen for the ODI series against Sri Lanka in January of this year after commencing his recovery in November of last year and started to bowl in December.

But when his training regimen became more intense in January, he started to feel pain once again. He also missed the ICC T20 World Cup in 2022 and the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2023.

The National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru’s medical personnel originally set a comeback date for Bumrah for the start of this year’s Asia Cup, which is on August 30.

Bumrah was bowling with “full intensity” in the nets last week, according to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which was the first sign that he was recuperating more swiftly than expected.

Since starting his rehabilitation in April, Bumrah has progressively increased the amount of bowling he does. Bumrah will make a second trip to Ireland.

In his last visit to the country in 2018, he damaged his thumb during the first game. Due to this injury, he was forced to miss the first part of the England trip that year.
