Cricket’s Shamrao Thosar Memorial is won by Modern CC
In the 67th MCA Late Shamrao Thosar Memorial Cricket Event, which was held in conjunction with Mumbai Cricket Club at Central Maidan, Thane, on Wednesday, Modern Cricket Club defeated Mazgaon Cricket Club by six wickets.
Mazgaon CC chose to bat and lost for 170 runs in 38.2 overs. Adnan Ansari added 38 runs to lead the inning, while left-hander Aagneya Aadi scored with 47.
Bhavin Darji (3-28) and Saif Shaikh (3-35) were two of the best left-arm spinners for Modern CC.
In response, Modern CC easily reached 171 in 34.1 overs with the loss of four wickets. For the winning side, middle-order hitters Aakash Savla and Nishant Mane struck out undefeated half-centuries of 65 and 55 runs, respectively.
