Dipa finished fourth in the World Cup

New Delhi: Indian gymnast Dipa Karmakar concluded her career with yet another great fourth-place result in the FIG Apparatus World Cup women’s vault final, which was held in Doha as a Paris Olympics qualifying event.

With a score of 13.333, the 30-year-old, who had placed fourth in the Apparatus World Cup in Baku last month, almost missed out on a medal. An Chang Ok (13.833) and Georgieva Valentina (13.466) took home the silver and bronze medals, respectively, while Navas Karla (13.850) won the gold.

Therefore, Dipa was unable to qualify for the vault at the Paris Games. The last Olympic qualifying event is the Asian Championships, which are slated to take place in Uzbekistan in May.
