Greetings, Thala Simply the Pleasure of Seeing You Finish: CSK Icon Suresh Raina is in awe of MS Dhoni’s heroic last over vs MI

On Sunday, MS Dhoni, the all-conquering great, scored at a strike rate of 500, essentially turning back the clock. Even though he batted for the last four deliveries in Chennai Super Kings’ 20th over against Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Dhoni gave the fans at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai their money’s worth.

After earning the nicknames “Mr. IPL” and “Chinna Thala” for his amazing consistency for the team, former CSK batter Suresh Raina sent a thank-you card to the former India captain. Greetings, Thala Simply the pleasure of seeing you complete,” Raina commented with a picture of Dhoni.

The announcers showed out MS Dhoni’s supposedly unbeatable IPL records after the CSK innings. On Instagram, the IPL official account shared the identical picture. Regarding the renowned captain, there is a common slogan that has gained cult status: “Thala For A Reason.” This is the title of the statistics graphic.

The following records were mentioned: 1) most IPL titles shared by a captain with five; 2) most runs as a wicketkeeper with five hundred; 3) most dismissals behind the stumps with eighty-four; 4) most appearances with twenty-six; 5) only captain with one hundred triumphs (133); and 6) most finals played with eleven.

With 19.2 overs remaining, CSK was 186/4. Following Daryl Mitchell’s dismissal by MI captain Hardik Pandya, it seemed like the hosts had done just enough to keep CSK below 200. Or at least that’s what we were told. However, MS Dhoni had other ideas. He struck three sixes in his first six balls to bring back fond memories for cricket fans everywhere and to remind them that, even at 42, there aren’t many players who can end an innings as well as he can.

The winning side ultimately prevailed against MI by the same score, with MS Dhoni’s 20-run cameo in four balls proving to be the difference between the two teams.

MI missed a 20-run goal while chasing an enormous total of 207. Matheesha Pathirana, a pacer for CSK from Sri Lanka, amassed incredible statistics of 4/28 in his four overs, sealing a decisive win for the team. Because of his outstanding play with the ball, Pathirana was also named Player of the Match.
