Hockey matches for junior men and junior women are won by MP, Chattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat

Hockey Maharashtra, Hockey Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh Hockey all won their respective matches on the fourth day of the first Hockey India Sub Junior Men and Women West Zone Championship 2023.

As for the men’s division, Hockey Madhya Pradesh, Hockey Maharashtra, and Hockey Gujarat all won their respective matches.

In the opening game of the day in the Sub Junior Women’s division, Hockey Maharashtra defeated Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey by a score of 7-0. Captain Yashasvi Prakash Kubde (3′, 15′, 22′, and 43′), Rawat Anvi (20′), Chavan Shreya Abhijit (29′), and Vaz Taleesa (49′) scored goals for Hockey Maharashtra.

In the second game, Hockey Madhya Pradesh easily defeated Goans Hockey by a score of 23-0 in the Sub Junior Women’s division. The goal-fest was began by Gungun Kaur (1′, 23′) in the very first minute, followed by Sallu Pukhrambam (3′, 15′, 57′), Kanak Pal (8′, 22′, 56′), Tanvi (8′, 45′), Sujata Jayant (20′, 24′, 32′, 48′, 55′, 59′), Rubi Rathore (37′, 40′, 43′, 44′, 54′), and Hasan Jainab (42′, 50′).

In the third game, Chhattisgarh Hockey trounced Hockey Gujarat 13-0 in the Sub Junior Women’s division. Sidar Madhu and Maurya Priyanshi scored the majority of the goals for Chhattisgarh Hockey (6′, 7′, 13′, 23′, 58′). Korram Dhaneshwari (30′), Shyamlee Ray (33′), Naina (38′), and Captain Aradhana Rajbhar (58′) all scored goals in support of the pair.

In the fourth game, in the Sub Junior Men’s division, Hockey Madhya Pradesh defeated Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey by a score of 6-2. Aashir Aadil Khan of Hockey Madhya Pradesh stole the show with a hat trick (43′, 46′, 51′), while Khan Javvad (11′, 45′) notched a brace and Morya Rishi (17′) chipped in with a goal. Yadav Pawan (18′) and Yadav Aakash (56′) scored the two goals for Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey.

In the sixth game of the Sub Junior Men’s division, Hockey Maharashtra beat Hockey Rajasthan 2-0. In the last seconds of the third quarter, Hockey Maharashtra’s captain Swayam Sanju Gangurde broke the scoreless tie, and a goal by Rehan Shafi Khan in the fourth period gave them the victory and three points.

In the last game of the day, Hockey Gujarat defeated Goans Hockey in the Sub Junior Men’s division by a score of 2-1. Yuvraj Pawar, the team’s captain, scored in the 36th and 43rd seconds, giving Hockey Gujarat a respectable lead. After a goal by Baa Udit (54′), Goans Hockey sought to salvage a point but were unsuccessful. Hockey Gujarat were not further threatened.
