Hockey player Deep Grace Ekka will get a cash prize of Rs. 50 lakh, according to the chief minister of Odisha

Hockey player Deep Grace Ekka will get a monetary prize of Rs 50 lakhs from Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for helping India win a bronze medal at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou in 2022.

Deep Grace Ekka received the sincere compliments of Chief Minister Patnaik, who also praised her outstanding achievement and referred to her as a role model for the state’s young.

“Deep Grace Ekka has become a symbol of hope and pride for aspiring athletes in the country,” the chief minister said. She has given some fantastic performances to demonstrate her tenacity, and I have no doubt that she will continue to represent India with pride by exemplifying the spirit of excellence and endurance.

The 28-year-old made her international debut in 2011 in the Four-Nation Tournament in Argentina. She comes from the hamlet of Lulkidihi in Odisha’s Sundargarh district. She has been a crucial member of the national squad ever since.

She completed 250 International Caps in May 2023.

The Indian squad, which competed in Rio for the first time since the 1980 Olympics, and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics included Deep. She was a crucial member of the squad that took home the bronze medal at the Women’s Asia Cup 2013, the gold at the Asian Champions Trophy in 2016, the silver at the Asian Champions Trophy in 2018, the bronze at the 18th Asian Games in Birmingham in 2022, and the gold at the Asia Cup in 2017.

The outstanding defender also had a significant impact on India’s success in capturing the gold medal in the first FIH Women’s Nations Cup, which took place in Spain in 2022.
