How Much Money Will the Winner of the Novak Djokovic vs. Carlos Alcaraz Match Receive at Wimbledon in 2023?

The Wimbledon 2023 championship match between world No. 2 Novak Djokovic and world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz will take place on the SW19 center court on Sunday, and the whole world will stop in its tracks.

A huge amount of prize money is also at risk in the Wimbledon final in addition to individual glory, records, and bragging rights. The prize money will equal what Novak Djokovic collected when he beat Rafael Nadal in the 2019 Wimbledon final, making it the joint-highest sum ever awarded in the history of the tennis major.

The winner of the match between Alcaraz and Djokovic would take home a nice $2.35 million prize, or slightly over 19 crores of rupees.

Since the Djokovic-Nadal match in 2019, the prize money was raised by 11% to bring it up to the pre-pandemic level, although the next two events in 2021 and 2022 were canceled due to Covid.

The prize money was raised “to the levels in 2019 prior to the pandemic while, additionally, providing deserved support for players in the early rounds of the event,” according to Wimbledon director Ian Hewitt.

Tennis is not the most lucrative sport, but players that compete in the major events and go farther in the competition may earn sums that might change their lives. Chris Eubanks, who advanced to the quarterfinals, received £340,000 in prize money.

Speaking of Novak Djokovic, the Serbian has already won around to £13 million in prize money from his prior exploits at SW19, and the second-ranked player in the world will be aiming to add yet another major championship to his trophy case.

The 20-year-old Alcaraz will be aiming for a historic accomplishment as he attempts to become the first male athlete since Boris Becker to win the Wimbledon singles final.

However, Djokernole, a Serbian player who now has seven Wimbledon championships, will attempt to match Roger Federer’s record of eight victories.
