IND vs. ENG: “England Players Can’t Hide Behind Bazball,” Says Nasser Hussain

On the first day of the fifth and final Test match of the series at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala, England’s batting collapsed once again against India, leaving former captain Nasser Hussain fuming.

Hussain criticized the England hitters, stating that they should concentrate on their own skills and not hide behind “bazball.”

The visitors were bowled out for 218 thanks to the spectacular five-wicket haul of left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav and the four wickets taken by off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

England chose to bat first and were ahead at 100/1, but Kuldeep’s 5-72 and Ashwin’s 4-51 saw them out of the game in 57.4 overs. As England attempted to seem confident, they were ultimately defeated by Kuldeep’s skill and fell like a pack of cards, leaving just Zak Crawley to fight alone with a handsome 79.

With the batting strategy, I believe England’s players should examine their own performances and work to become better. The finest players, the greatest players, like Ravichandran Ashwin, aim to grow better no matter what their strategy, coach, or captain say. Nasser Hussain told Sky Sports this.

“Jonny Bairstow attempted to retaliate, reaching twenty-thirty and going out, but Zach Crawley, who has batted better, was out between fifty and eighty for the sixth time. Ben Stokes hasn’t done much with the bat and hasn’t been able to read Kuldeep Yadav from the wrist. Not the circumstances, but the fight with the bat is genuine,” he said.

Instead of sheltering behind “Bazball,” Nasser advised the England players to examine their areas of weakness and work on becoming better batsmen.

The most crucial recommendation made by any coach, captain, or other individual is that England’s batters focus on themselves instead of listening to others. Develop your own thinking on how I can improve as a cricket player. By the time the trip is over, hopefully, the England players will take a closer look at themselves and come out from behind the ball.
