IND vs. ENG: Rohit Sharma Enters Red-ball Mode to Begin England Test Preparation

India’s skipper, Rohit Sharma, has begun preparing for the next five-match Test series against England at home and has gone into the red-ball mindset.

In a recent Twenty20 International series, Rohit led India to a 3-0 victory against Afghanistan. In the third game, he broke the record with a century after posting two consecutive ducks.

The 236-year-old will captain the Indian team throughout the Test series, which gets off in Hyderabad on January 25.

Prior to the series, Rohit’s IPL team, the Mumbai Indians, released a number of images of him batting in the nets.

In 17 innings, Rohit has amassed 747 runs in the Test match against England. With two centuries and three half-centuries, he averages 49.80.

Rohit has amassed 2,002 runs at home with an outstanding 66.73 average in 24 Tests. He has the highest individual score of 212, eight hundred, and six fifties.

In the meanwhile, the England team captained by Ben Stokes has landed in India after a prolonged camp in Abu Dhabi.

Rather than acclimating to the Indian conditions for a tour game, the visitors chose to practice in the Middle East in order to be ready for the difficult task.

Mohammed Shami, an Indian fast bowler, will be out for the first two Test matches and maybe the whole series as he recovers from an ankle injury.

Dhruv Jurel, a wicketkeeper-batter, received his first Test call-up from the hosts in the 16-man team captained by Rohit.

The current cycle of the ICC World Test Championship includes the five-match series.

WTC runners-up twice India began their campaign against the West Indies with a 1-0 Test series victory. They next toured South Africa, where they returned with a 1-1 series tie in two matches.

Their third assignment of the WTC cycle will be this one.

When England hosted Australia for the Ashes last year, they won the series 2-2 despite losing the first two Tests. They are in their second cycle of the series.

Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, Jasprit Bumrah, the vice-captain, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, KS Bharat, Dhruv Jurel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, and Avesh Khan are the players who will play the first two Test matches against England.
