India defeats Australia for 199 in the tournament’s first match

In their ICC World Cup first match here on Sunday, India bowled out Australia for 199.

After winning the toss, captain Pat Cummins decided to bat first, but things didn’t go as planned for the guests, who were in trouble at 119 for 5 in the 30th over.

With his middle-over strikes, left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja (3/38) caused the most of the harm.

Australia’s best scorer was Steven Smith, who hit 46 off 71 balls, and David Warner, who made 41 off 52.
