Indian men’s trap team wins silver at the ISSF World Junior Championship in Korea

At the present ISSF World Junior Championship in Changwon, Korea, the Indian men’s trap team, consisting of Bakhtyaruddin Malek, Shardul Vihaan, and Arya Vansh Tyagi, took home the silver medal.

This was India’s fifteenth medal overall.

Italy won the gold medal with a total score of 356 while the trio shot a combined 346.

The men’s trap shooters from India were unable to go to the finals earlier.

Ashima Ahlawat did place in the top six in women’s trap, but she came in dead last. Ashima qualified with a score of 109 and eventually won one of the three remaining berths in a six-person shoot-off.

Preeti Rajak, Ashima’s colleague, was the first victim of the shoot-off.

Preeti, Bhavya, and Aadya Tripathi combined for 312 in the team competition, falling short of the bronze medal as China won with 314 points.

The gold and silver medals were won by the USA and Italy, respectively.
