IPL 2024 Match 39 between CSK and LSG: Who Said Marcus Stoinis is the Player of the Match: “I will give them a break since there are many opening batters in the tournament, but my position is in the middle.

“It is more than simply go-go-go while pacing an innings. There was flow and ebb. Certain bowlers were our primary targets, while others were our cautious opponents. Both Nicky P and Hooda had strong innings. It came and went. You are always constructing on the inside. You are more fond of some bowlers than others.

[T20 game alteration?] It is, in my opinion, evolving. A portion of the points are being tallied, and the impact player provides further context. It seems risky.

[T20 World Cup?] My connection with the coach is excellent. I am totally okay with not obtaining a contract—something I was aware of for a long time. In terms of playing, I’d want to become involved. I began my career here, therefore, I like this competition.”

KL Rahul, captain of the LSG: Extremely unique, particularly in a game like that. We had the impression that the game was well ahead of us in the pursuit. It feels wonderful just to pull off a win.

[Carrying over from the last victory?] No, a new beginning. various circumstances. They put pressure on the bowlers after getting off to a strong start. It wasn’t 210 wickets, in my opinion. They did a great job at batting. I am grateful to Stoinis. It was amazing to see him. It was clever batting as well as power hitting.

“As a squad, we wanted to be more bolder at No. 3. We played three games, two at home and one away, when we were unable to score more than 170. In the top three, we need one power hitter. That was the way it was thinking.

[Having more courage] Additionally, I’ve seen that in the last several years, T20 cricket has evolved. 170-180 isn’t usually sufficient. In the powerplay, you have to exert more effort. You have greater flexibility since the Impact player provides you with depth. It has been a while since I played T20 cricket.

“[Pooran up the order] No predetermined strategy exists. With the exception of the openers, everyone is ready to go at any time. Pooran entered the game at three. I want to win the tournament’s fielder of the year title.”

Deepak Hooda: “Our strategy was quite simple; we wanted to smack the ball and score 14 runs each over. I had no other choice because of the run pace and how difficult these guys were to manage. That is what the IPL offers. His knock was only motivation; he was too excellent, a warrior-like presence from the second over.

“We were in the game 100 percent of the time, and the dugout knew we would battle and win. We are facing CSK, who are performing well, in the latter stages of the competition, and these two points mean a lot to our squad. It is a pleasant sensation.

Ruturaj Gaikwad: “Excellent cricket match, but a bitter pill to chew. LSG performed well on the back end. Up until the 13th or 14th over, we controlled the game, and then Stoinis had a fantastic inning. (On dew) It had an impact; our spinners were eliminated from the game due to the copious amounts of dew. Otherwise, we may have improved the game’s control and depth. But you can’t influence it; these are just aspects of the game.

“Jaddu has been batting at number four since the powerplay ended with us losing the second wicket. (Regarding Dube’s point of entrance, We are of the opinion that Shivam will bat if there is a wicket after the powerplay.). Batters cannot be made to leave after us. Since we have encountered dew throughout our practice sessions, I must admit that I felt our objective was just about par, not enough. However, I applaud how LSG batted.”
