Japleen Kaur won a bronze medal in the National School Games in roller skating

Japleen Kaur, a skater from the city, won the bronze medal at Satna, Madhya Pradesh, during the 67th National School Games, which were hosted by the School Games Federation of India.

In the 1,000-meter rink race, which took place between April 11 and 15, Japleen, a student in Class X at Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, represented the Punjab roller skating team (U-17). She came in third. Japleen also participated in the 3,000-meter road event, where she finished in fourth place and almost missed a medal.

Japleen had already won four medals at the 61st National Roller Skating Championship, which was held in Chennai in December of last year: one gold, one silver, and two bronze. She is competing for Punjab and has been a reliable performer in the national championships since 2018.

In addition to three gold and one silver in the Punjab State Skating Championship and two gold in the 67th Punjab School Games last year, Japleen won two gold and one bronze in the preceding Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan, which was hosted by the Punjab Sports Department.

Japleen Kaur is trained by senior skating coach JS Dhaliwal, who announced that she would be present in the 2018 World Roller Games selection trials for the Indian skating squad.
