Jude Bellingham is acquired by Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund for more than 100 million euros
Jude Bellingham, an English midfielder, has been signed by Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund for a sum of over 100 million euros, with incentives that might raise the ultimate cost by another 30%.
The 19-year-old, who has already made 24 appearances for England, was sold by Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday. Bellingham is expected to sign a six-year deal with Real Madrid.
Following the departures of players like Marco Asensio, Karim Benzema, Eden Hazard, and Mariano Diaz, along with others like Dani Ceballos, Luka Modric, and Toni Kroos who have yet to sign new contracts, Bellingham becomes Real Madrid’s first acquisition of what is predicted to be a busy summer.
Just over a month after turning 16, Bellingham made his professional debut for Birmingham City.
He was quickly signed by Borussia Dortmund in July 2020, and since then, he has made 132 appearances and scored 24 goals, including 14 last season.
With Eduardo Camavinga spending most of that time at left back and Federico Valverde feeling the pace following the FIFA World Cup, the transfer will provide Real Madrid more energy in the middle of the pitch as well as a box-to-box player that they have been missing.
